The Capital Music Technology program is hands-on with a focus on practice and placement. Students are required to complete a seven-week internship, and that’s where careers really start to take shape. These internship opportunities exist internationally – and closer to home, with more than 100 venues in 18 states. Our students have been welcomed at Clear Channel, PromoWest Productions, the Chicago Recording Company, and Dell Computers just to name a few. During their final semester, students also attend the International NAMM Expo in California to network with music tech industry leaders.
For those seeking a world perspective, we also offer a short-term study away experience. Generally one week long, these international excursions immerse you in cultural as well as professional experiences, adding to the depth of your understanding of the industry in international venues. Our students have traveled to Denmark, Berlin, Germany, Nicaragua, and Belfast, Northern Ireland.
We have the right degree for you.

“A big part of college is networking with people around you. You never know the impression you’ll make. I’ve had some great performance and music tech experiences when I was at Capital JUST because someone knew me. So make sure you get to know the people around you. Having access to professors who actually know my name was huge, and it helped that all of the professors were so approachable.”
-Devin Murray, Music Technology, Class of 2018
